Weekend in Vernal, Utah

 Picnic lunch at the Dinosaur National Monument in Jensen, Utah; just outside Vernal. It is a national park and is filled with hiking trails and lot's of beautiful mountains and rocks. (Utah mountains). We didn't hike considering the heat and I don't do well in the heat, espiecally when pregnant.

The quarry is all enclosed to protect the fossils from weather and bad guys. At the quarry you can touch some of the bones and they have maps along the wall to explain what you're looking at. There was also a short kids' activity where the kids completed a booklet all about the quarry and then became Jr. Rangers; complete with Ranger badge as you'll see in later pictures.

 We also stopped at the Vernal Temple. It was a tabernacle and then they gutted it in 1997 and converted it into a temple. Sound familiar?

There were several huge dinosaurs throughout town and we wanted to get a picture at each of them. :)

June 1st Playing at Burraston Pond in Mona, Utah

Some friends from church invited us up for the day playing in the big pond with rope swings and a canoe. Thanks Thompsons, Hansens and Jensens for a great day! I love to swim, and I brought my suit, but I was too much of a wimp to get in the cold water. I promised if anyone was drowning I would jump in...luckily I didn't have to. :)

Memorial Day Bike Ride

The boys were all good sports; especially Richard. He is not a great bike rider but stuck it out. He even had two pretty bad crashes but survived. It was a fun day. I haven't ridden my bike in years.

Of course we had to play at  Bridal Veil Falls as well.

Park City Family Resort Vacation with THE JENSENS!

 We spent a few days this last week at "The Jensen's Hotel". They invited us up to go swimming and other great activities at their family resort. It was such fun! The boys loved the pool the best of course and these life jackets were a huge help! Thanks Jensens!

Teacher 'Thank you' Gifts

 My friend Carole gave me her old Cricut and we get it out from time to time. This project was thanking the boys' fantastic school teachers. We got the little pots, fake flowers, magnetic notepads and purse note pads at the Dollar store. Then we spent nearly 2 hours making cut out cards using the Cricut and the neat cartridges Carole has given me. Thanks Carole! We had a great time!

My childhood friend's wedding in Ogden. It was really fun to see her and her parents, and her new husband. :)

More Jungle Book Pictures

 At the "Adults Only" Fundraiser Dinner Ben and I were in charge of the dessert table. We shopped for and prepared all the chocolate for the fountains, chose cookies, crackers, fruit etc. It was a big hit and really yummy. That's a lot of strawberries and pineapple...now I know how to work a chocolate fountain. I can see why people love them so much, but they're a pain to clean.

 At the rewards night a few nights after the final show each child was presented with an "Oscar" and nickname that their instructors came up with. I got to help hand them out.

I promise I'm not always that lazy...

I won't be offended if you don't watch the entire clip...I didn't realize Richard was recording for that long. But we worked in the garden and changed the sheets that day. He blows on the dandelion, does flower close-ups and is just a 9 year old boy with a video camera. :) Made me laugh. 

The Jungle Book Musical

 Garrett was a 'bush' and danced and sang. Richard was a wolf, then changed to an elephant, then changed to a vulture as his main character. It's been so fun! Tomorrow is our final show with dinner catered from Ruby River.

Saturday Afternoon

At least Garrett is expending some energy after watching Conference for 2 hours. :) This is his favorite past time as of the last few months. I love it! The show starts on Thursday! We're so excited!!!
