New Bed

I found this little toddler bed on Craig's List for $45 so I couldn't pass it up. It even came with a used mattress...so now we have 3 crib size mattresses and we only use the one for Garrett since Richard is in a twin bed. :) The crib is still up in the background...we're still trying to decide which closet to put it in. We have accumulated quite a lot of stuff since we've moved here...we have a lot more room than we've ever had, and of course we accumulated a second child so that adds a bit too. :)
Garrett loves his little bed. He gets in and out fine, and when he's supposed to! Here he is playing with a train.

Pretty flowers. :)

The pansies are spreading out and it's fun to watch...

A sprout!

That's it...two little sprouts! The other mountain has 2 also!!! It's so exciting (to me) to see things growing!!!

Family picture

Here's me with curly hair! I've had it permed since December...I think I'm done with it.

Our little blondies

Didn't know we had two blondies, didja? Garrett's hair has progressively been lightening up. I love the contrast in his dark eyes and skin, and light hair. Richard has always been a tow-head, which runs in the family!

Garden 2008

I have anxiously been awaiting the arrival of spring. So on Tuesday afternoon Ben rented a small tiller and we churned up all of our dirt. Then on Wednesday morning we were outside with the boys in the drizzle for about 3 hours while Ben dug his trench. (Doesn't every boy want to dig a trench?) We helped by picking through all the dirt he dug up, and then using all the big rocks to fill in the bottom of the trench. Then we filled it in first with granite gravel and then after a trip to Lowe's about 6 bags of white marble. It is really pretty. We also bought 4 big bags of cedar bark/mulch to accent the end of the garden spot and some stepping stones. Then I put 2 flower baskets together to hang up and he had to dig 2 holes each about a foot deep to put the stands in. Let me add while he was doing this it was pouring rain and he came in looking like he'd just taken a shower. (I wish I had a picture of that!)

On Thursday I transplanted all of my little purple pansies and orange marigolds that my mother-in-law had helped me buy for my birthday and played around with that for a while. (It's kind of hard to see in the picture, but they're along the house under the window and patio.) Then I planted some butternut squash seeds in my little mountains (which Ben later fixed because they were big enough). It is really nice. I’ll just have to keep up with the weeds. But considering how many we pulled before hand, killed with weed killer and put weed preventer down before we planted, I hope we have very few weeds this year. It still keeps raining. But that’s why we built the trench; to keep the soil from eroding away from our plants. We also put up the little fence to accent the whole thing and discourage little people from going in it.

Changes

Ben is back in school trying to finish up and Corinne is back working at the Provo Temple. Ben is now the scoutmaster for the ward troop. Overall, we're adjusting well.
