Eating fun with Spencer

This was a couple months ago, but it makes me happy. Enjoy!

Annual Gingerbread houses

We decorated gingerbread houses on Monday night with some good friends. Alainna and Stephen helped Garrett decorate one house and Ben and I helped Richard with the other. Garrett really got into it and really enjoyed having some one on one attention with a new friend. Thanks Alainna, and congrats on your baby!

It's Autumn Time!

It's Autumn time, it's autumn time, the leaves have fallen down! And Spencer is loving the leaf piles the neighborhood boys make for him.

First Halloween

Richard helped Ben gut the pumpkins, and then Garrett looked on while Spencer dove right in.

What's in there?

And finally...into the mouth! It's ok, I mean, it's squash right? Ha!

Besides sleeping babies...

crawling babies are the cutest thing in the world! There's no going back now!

This was today!!!

Flaming Nachos!

So, this is what happens when you get to talking with your spouse after a long busy day and you've already put your bedtime snack nachos in on BROIL, and you forget about them! Enjoy!

You'll be happy to know we did make some edible nachos after all the excitement died down, including showing the neighbors Ben's flaming tray of chips and cheese.

Cornbelly's 2009

I can't believe it's been a whole year since we were at Cornbelly's.
Here is us last year:

Here is us this year, just one extra boy. It also got dark a lot sooner. We did manage to go through the corn maze without cheating this year...the boys were more patient this year, and Richard didn't have to go to the bathroom suddenly...
We went on Monday night. One of our favorite things to do was driving the train and playing in the Princess Playland. They even had boy costumes, so the boys loved dressing up as Jedi, in musketeer costumes, and I got to be girly as Snow White. It was
really fun.

Getting ready for lunch

Garrett insists on getting up to the table with no help anymore...

Neighborhood Wildlife

Every once in a while we get wild animals wandering around the neighborhood, and I don't mean the children. See the duck?...it's running for its life. :)

This is Garrett, Richard, Scott, and Kyle.

The duck outsmarted them by crossing the street...just you wait Duck, we'll get you next time you come over!

Amateur Photo Shoot

Richard had picture day at kindergarten on Wednesday, so I decided to have my own photo shoot at home with the two little boys. Then we took some more once Richard got home.

This was the last pose, and by then Spencer was done. :) We got a few good ones. Enjoy!

I love...

SLEEPING BABIES!!!

As I tried to gently wipe the crusty graham cracker off of his fingers and face he woke up enough to say "I want to do it, Mom." That only lasted a couple of seconds. He is my 'self cleaning' baby.

Visit with the Ricks College Washingtonians!

Steen and Katie Jensen, Ben and mine roommates (respectively!) drove through Provo on their way to Florida for a new job. It's been over 5 years since we saw them, so we got to meet their 3 cuties and they met Garrett and Spencer. Of course, Richard was only 6 months old the one time they met him, so I guess he's changed a bit...

And just a fun little clip of Spencer...He is a grunter!

Sitting in boxes and "Are you longer than Big Bird?"

Spencer:

Garrett:

Richard: Sorry, no box pictures for Richard...

The many faces of Spencer

Spencer loves the camera...here he is peering around Garrett so he can smile for me. And here he is smiling through his tears. He was crying...he is such a joy for us. So fun.

Birthday Party!

Garrett turned 3 years old today. We had some neighbor friends over to share Papa Murphy's pizza and a Wall-E cake that I got from Macey's. Garrett got some gift cards from his grandparents, so Ben and I had fun shopping. :) We got him some train set accessories to go with our collection of tracks, including a great deal at Funfinity for a battery-powered Thomas engine. That was sort of the crowning glory of course. On the educational side of things we got him a puzzle that is a challenge for even us, and some wooden stencils that spell simple words. I also procured a great deal on Ebay for the movie Wall-E, 3-disc special edition-woohoo! I think I was more excited about that than Garrett was. :) I also try to buy the boys a hardbound book for their birthdays and Christmas, so we got him an Usborne book as I am now a consultant for the company. There's my plug for Usborne. :) Visit my website at www.myubam.com/C3124. Thanks once again, Uncle Daniel, for taking pictures. Ben's brother, Daniel, has been taking pictures at most of our boys' birthday parties since Richard's first! All in all we had a great time playing with toys, old and new, with our friends Jonah, Nolan, Oliver and Scott. Thanks for a great birthday Garrett, I love you!

First Day of School!

Richard survived his first day. He had a big grin on his face and waved as the bus pulled away from our house this morning at 8:15. We are very lucky in that the bus stop for our neighborhood is right smack in front of our house! Then he came home just after 12:00, and I had made a really filling lunch and he was ready for it! He told me about some games they played and the couple of kids that he knows. He and his buddy Gavin get to ride the bus together, but they are in different classes. He does have a few kids from Primary that he knows in his kindergarten class. It's going to be great!

Graham Cracker Time!

Before...

After...
And some other fun photos:

New Bikes

Garrett has inherited a hand-me-down bike and helmet-Richard's! Richard has outgrown them so I was able to find him a Spiderman Bike for $30 and a brandnew helmet with knee/elbow pads for $7 from KSL.com! I was so excited for such a great deal!

Piano Prodigy?

I hope so. But as for now, Richard's favorite song is the Darth Vader theme. Listen carefully...

Thanksgiving Point

We were all able to go to $2 buck Tuesday at Thanksgiving Point's Farm Country and Dinosaur Museum. Ben carried Spencer around most of the time, which was nice for me, and we had a pretty good time. I hadn't intended on being outside at the Farm country (we were initially just going to go to the museum, but the line to get in went clear around the building) so I didn't bring hats or sunblock...bad mommy. Richard didn't want to ride on a pony, but Garrett had a good time.

Garrett tried to squeeze through the bars...he had to go back the other way. He has a huge head. :)

After Farm Country we hit the museum as the line had disappeared. In the museum Garrett was pretending he was a scary dinosaur while Spencer napped.

While waiting in line for the Farm Country...the boys were being amused by the baby and Daddy.
