I love comparing previous pictures with current ones. So here's a trip down memory lane...where did the boys' genes come from? They're all so different!

Chuckie Cheese Birthday Party!

Our good friend and neighbor, Sergio, celebrated his 5th birthday party at Chuckie Cheese and we got to go along. Here are just some shots of the boys at the party.

Carnival Extreme!

We went to the Strawberry Days parade in Pleasant Grove on June 20th. The weather just barely held out. It threatened to rain the whole time, and it did for a little while. We sought shelter under a roofed 3-walled picnic area. I was surprised no one else did. We ate our picnic lunch and then scoped out the carnival across the street. We only did the roller coaster, and I won the toss as to which parent got to ride with the boys...just kidding, but I wanted to go so Ben was happy to oblige. I don't often say "I really want to do this" so when I do Ben is usually very happy to let me do what it is I want. In this case, a simple rollercoaster! It was really fun, but after about 4 turns I was ready to get off, and yet, it went around a total of 9 times. I counted. After naps we went to the carnival at Alberstons just down the road from our hosue. The only thing I wanted to do was the ferris wheel, but I got talked in to going on what would become Richard's favorite ride, the Tornado! Garrett liked the motorcycles and the cars the best. I laughed so hard when I watched all 3 of the boys coming out of the house of glass...Garrett tried going the wrong way and ran SMACK into a pane! It was so funny! Poor little guy. :) He is tough; it didn't even phase him!
It started to pour around 4pm, so we really didn't get a lot of use out of 'unlimited ride' wristbands and we were quite disappointed, aside from being super wet. But we went home and had dinner, dinked around the house, had baths and got pajamas on, and then, Ben stole Richard back to the carnival at 8 because the sun had some back out! They were there until 11:30pm! Ben said Richard went on that Tornado ride about 20 times...he must have his Daddy's stomach, not mine! Even though Richard doesn't look it, he absolutely loved the carnival! Here he is with 2 little neighborhood friends and Ben. I could fill a whole blog with all that we did, but we'll just say they definitely got their money's worth.

Solid foods...yum!

Spencer will be 6 months old on July 1st, so I decided to get started with the solid foods. He tolerates it, to be frank. He doesn't enjoy it yet, well, except for the teething cookies that he can hold on himself and he sucks the life out of them. He has had a few bites of squash and pears mixed with baby cereal. He likes to chew on his lower lip...

Garden and surprise pics

My Dad wanted to see more of the garden, so here it isAlso, Richard loves taking pictures...often I upload the pictures onto the computer and I realize he's been using it again...so here are a few he took that I thought were funny.

Comings and goings

Richard had his first bee attack on Tuesday evening. He loves bugs and The Bee Movie and I think more than the physical pain was the realization that not all bugs are nice. I'm pretty sure it was actually a wasp that bit him because I couldn't see a stinger. I gave him some benadryl and an ice pack, but talk about trauma! He was hysterical for the first couple of minutes with huge alligator tears and screaming! I think the Benadryl calmed him down and that I sat with him. There is a good part about this though, we now we know he's not deathly allergic to bee stings (or wasp bites).
We also went to the fire station this week with a bunch of kids from church. See all those boys? I took pictures of our neighbors, Amelia, Jonah and Nolan, but wasn't sure where to put them, so here they are. Also, Ethan is wearing the full fireman getup. He said it was pretty heavy! It was fun to watch all the kids climb into the ambulance and we got some pictures of a bunch of them sitting on the front of the fire truck. We did this same activity exactly 3 years ago when I was pregnant with Garrett...my my how time flies.
Spencer is attempting to roll over, he gets onto his side to look at something and stays that way for a while, then flops back to his back. Garrett no longer calls Spencer "Besson", but Ben and I do! It'll be one of those family nicknames that sticks: "Besson". Now Garrett calls him "Bensa". Luckily Richard is still "Weesho." Richard is getting too big for his little training wheels bike...might have to watch the sales at Toys R Us for a bigger one. Hmm, craiglist might work too. I bought something for Ben for Father's Day on Craigslist, but just in case he actually looks at the blog between now and Sunday I won't say what I got...I love ksl.com and craiglist, they are dangerous websites! Too many interesting and fun things to see there!

Next big adventure...

KINDERGARTEN! Can't believe Richard is 5 and a half, and will be going into kindergarten soon...wow. I was able to go with him to his last day of preschool. They had prepared a little program for the parents to see. SO cute!

Spencer at the park

Our parents all live in Washington State, so we don't get to see them very often. This is the main reason I keep up my blog (as much as I do...). I want them to be able to see their grandsons every once in a while...

Just some fun shots of the boys. I dressed Garrett and Spencer in what little BYU paraphenalia we have...all used to be Richard's...he's growing so fast!

Liberty Land

We went to Liberty Land Fun Park last weekend. It was a pretty good deal and a lot of fun for the family. Garrett has a pretty good victory dance, don't you think? And Richard is improving...maybe he'll be a pro-golfer...:) They also have an indoor play area (free!) and we both took turns going down the big slide with the boys and on the big McDonalds' type play area. Very fun, we want to go back! We want to do the roller coaster next time. :) Richard keeps pretending he goes and comes back and then he tells me that he did everything.

BYU duck pond and golfing

We had a picnic lunch at the pond south of BYU a few weekends ago and the wildlife was fantastic; for Provo! There were ducks with lot's of babies, turtles, little boys being cute and lot's of nice grass to play in.

Ben also likes to golf with the boys in the backyard. Garrett found the mushrooms to be more interesting. I think he looks a lot like my sister in this picture.

Garrett has no concept of gray area...and Richard has come up with the new fad diet.

And finally, we washed the van this morning...well, the boys did while I posted all these new posts!

Crazy hair!

Richard had silly hair day at school, so we decided to be a little crazy...we DYED Richard's hair blue! And neighbor Gavin got a mohawk! Wow!

We used Koolaid, and it came out pretty easily; we also used toothpaste as recommended online. We also cut his hair this morning and there is hardly a trace of blue left...and it's only been 2 days!

Also, we were asked to have Spencer participate in a research study for BYU. They were studying infants' brainwaves when they look at groups of dots on a screen. So this is his cute little hair net with brain sensors. :) He didn't like it at first (could you imagine?) but he calmed down after a minute and it worked out just as they needed. Good job little guy!
